The All-Russian Patriotic Forum presented the award for the Year of Defender of the Fatherland

On December 9, the All-Russian Patriotic Forum presented the national Patriot Award, summing up the Year of Defender of the Fatherland, awards were given to projects and organizations whose activities were dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII) and the modern feat of Russian heroes.

"This sixth Patriot Award and, in a way, both the forum and the award sum up the Year of Defender of the Fatherland. And, of course, when developing nominations, inviting various public organizations, educational organizations, and individuals to participate, we focused on projects carried out specifically within the framework of the Year of Victory, the 80th anniversary of Victory," said Elena Belikova, head of the Rospatriotcenter of Rosmolodezh.

Among the nominations are "The Best Patriotic Project", "The Best regional Team", as well as a special award "Victory-80" for the organization that has been most active in preserving historical memory.

"Today, in the hall and throughout Russia, this is primarily dedicated to the great feat of our people, the great feat of the Great Patriotic War, today the great feat and the feat of our heroes of Russia," said Vitaly Kuznetsov, ataman of the All—Russian Cossack Society.

On the same day, a mass march of veterans of the Special military operation (SVO) and activists of patriotic movements was held in Moscow, dedicated to the Heroes of the Fatherland Day. Denis Kholodkov, an activist of the Combat Brotherhood volunteer company and a member of the SVO, noted that more than a thousand people took part in the event. According to him, the participants unfurled a commemorative banner and the world's largest St. George ribbon.
