The fighters of the North group told about their exploits in the free zone
On December 9, Russian servicemen of the 810th Marine Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet, operating as part of the North group, told Izvestia about the battles for the liberation of settlements in the Kherson and Kursk directions.
"In Krynki, the enemy began to actively use FPV drones, Babu Yaga. Our work became more complicated at that time. But over time, in the Kursk direction, if we take it, we have pulled up very much. We got our hands full in the wings. They began to fly better, better and further," said Tatyana Simonenkova, deputy commander of the airborne training battalion with the call sign Grom, in an interview with Izvestia correspondent.
The fighter participated in the cleansing of enemy fortifications near the village of Krynki in the Kherson region in 2024.
"We have not lost a single person, not a single car. The job was done. For this, the battalion command awarded him the second Order of Courage," said the company's deputy commander with the call sign Salvo, who was responsible for transporting personnel and food in Krynki.
After completing the tasks in the Kherson region, the brigade was transferred to the Kursk region. Salvo said that the time chosen for the movements was from three to five o'clock in the morning, when the enemy's activity was decreasing. During one of these tasks, while clarifying instructions from the commander, he was injured by an attack by a Ukrainian FPV drone.
A brigade veteran, deputy battalion commander with the call sign Kruger, has been participating in a special military operation (SVO) since 2022. He took part in the landing near Berdyansk and the liberation of Mariupol.
"One of the hardest battles, the battle in the city. But they passed, completely, and were released with dignity," Kruger said about the storming of Mariupol.
He received his first Order of Courage for these battles, where he remained the only surviving officer in his unit. The second award was for saving the battalion commander in the Kherson region after a shell from an enemy Baba Yaga helicopter penetrated two floors of a building, under the rubble of which the commander was.
"You take every settlement on our territory for granted. The land itself gives us strength, because it is Russian land," said the commander of the reconnaissance and amphibious company with the call sign Bull.
He also participated in the battles for Krynki, and then was transferred to the Kursk region, where his unit had to cross the river by swimming in January to reach the village of Kurilovka.
"At the time of this task, it was January. You can imagine how cold it was. But the people all coped with this task, forced themselves to swim, warmed up in cold basements and continued to liberate the Kursk land," added the Bull.
He also described a case where his group, cut off from supplies, was able to hold on to their positions by organizing meals using locally harvested potatoes and eggs. The fighters noted that the enemy's tactics are constantly changing, and every six months they have to adapt to new combat conditions.
On December 3, soldiers of the assault unit of the Center group of forces told the details of the fighting in the Red Army of the DPR. During the capture of this settlement, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation used an unconventional approach: they invisibly infiltrated the city in small groups, occupied important positions in prepared areas and only then went on the offensive. This strategy made it possible to catch the Ukrainian militants by surprise.
