In Podolsk, near Moscow, a child was poisoned by fumes of a toxic substance during a neighbor's repair and ended up in intensive care. This was reported to Izvestia on December 9 by his mother Naila.

The incident occurred in early November. The woman said that the neighbor, who lives on the floor above, started repairs and filled the floor with an unknown liquid. The coating was insulated and began to warm up, and a pungent odor seeped into the apartment below and provoked severe malaise among the residents.

According to Naili, on the second day she had a fever, her child began to feel sick. The boy spent two days staying with friends, and when he returned home to get his textbooks, he found himself in a fainting state, despite the fact that the apartment was regularly ventilated.

"My son came into the apartment wearing a mask, he vomited at first, and then he almost lost consciousness. An ambulance was called, they pulled him out and couldn't even get inside. Said: just a little more and you would have just been carried out of there," the woman shared.

The student was taken to the intensive care unit in serious condition, and his parents were taken to the therapeutic department. The next day, the child's condition improved and he was placed under the supervision of pulmonologists. Naila noted that the boy was discharged four days later, but he still complains of severe headaches and is undergoing examinations.

The woman clarified that she had reported the incident to the city administration, law enforcement agencies and Rospotrebnadzor. The examination revealed a pair of harmful chemicals in the apartment. Similar appeals were sent by residents of neighboring apartments — there were also excess charges in their housing.

"Even our clothes are soaked with this substance. The apartment will be declared uninhabitable. We just don't know where to go, what to do, where to live," explained Naila.

Now the family lives in a rented apartment and has to pay the mortgage in parallel. According to the woman, the neighbor who arranged the repairs did not object to the settlement agreement at first, but then stopped contacting her and offered to resolve all issues through his lawyer. The victims hope to resolve their differences in a pre-trial manner.

Earlier in September, a teenager almost burned to death while filming a video clip with friends in the Moscow region. The boy's lungs and eyes were damaged, and there was almost no healthy skin left to transplant.
