A mass march of SVO veterans and activists took place in Moscow.
On December 9, a mass march of veterans of the Special military operation (SVO) and activists of patriotic movements was held in Moscow, dedicated to the Heroes of the Fatherland Day.
"The heroes of our country are what it is based on in general. And the most important and valuable thing is <...> in our country, these are our heroes," Pavel Avdeev, an activist of the Young Guard of United Russia, told Izvestia.
Denis Khalkov, an activist of the Combat Brotherhood volunteer company and a member of the SVO, noted that more than a thousand people took part in the event. According to him, the participants unfurled a commemorative banner and the world's largest St. George ribbon. The SVO veteran emphasized that heroes are not only military personnel, but also home front workers and cultural and artistic figures who contribute to the common cause.
"We came with our big team to honor the memory of our heroes. I came here <...> because I like to support patriotic education. I am in favor of young people being patriotic about their lives," said volunteer Anna Tushkanova.
On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during an award ceremony in the Kremlin, said that the heroes of Russia had shown exceptional courage and valor in carrying out their tasks. He also pointed out that there is a solid value foundation behind every heroic act of the participants of the SVR. And the strength of the whole of Russia and its victories lies in historical correctness.
