Lukashenko responds to Lithuania's claims over weather balloons
Lithuania is starting to escalate the problem of weather balloons in their airspace. This was announced on December 9 by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
"They are starting to escalate and politicize the problem. Why, the question arises. Do they really want to fight?", the BelTA news agency quoted Lukashenko as saying.
EC President Ursula von der Leyen said on December 1 that the EU was preparing new restrictive measures against Belarus due to the alleged penetration of weather balloons into Lithuanian airspace. Von der Leyen stressed that the union "expresses solidarity to Lithuania."
