In the Belgorod region, a court sentenced a 58-year-old local resident to 17 years in prison for passing information about fortifications to the special services of Ukraine. This was announced on December 9 by the regional prosecutor's office in its Telegram channel.
"The Belgorod Regional Court has considered a criminal case against a 58-year-old local resident. He was found guilty under Articles 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (high treason), paragraphs "a", "b", Part 3 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code ("Illegal storage and transportation of explosive devices by a group of persons by prior agreement using the Internet")," the message says.
According to investigators, the man, on the instructions of Ukrainian intelligence, collected and transmitted data on the location of fortifications and personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the border areas of the Belgorod region. The court also found that the information collected by the man was used to infiltrate the Ukrainian militants in the Grayvoronsky city district.
