A resident of Lipetsk is awaiting trial for embezzling 12 million rubles from his friends

Lipetsk has completed the investigation of a criminal case of fraud for almost 12 million rubles, which one of the local residents embezzled, convincing his friends to invest in a joint business. This is reported by the regional prosecutor's office.

The investigation established that four people became the victim of the 33-year-old Lipchanin. The man convinced them to give him money to invest in a joint business, promising to pay interest, but he did not have such intentions, as well as a real opportunity.

As the prosecutor's office told GOROD48, one of the victims handed over 3.58 million rubles to the fraudster, the second — 2.469 million rubles, the third — 560 thousand rubles, and another - 5.253 million rubles. The total amount of damage exceeded 11.8 million rubles.

Lipchanin is charged under Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Fraud committed by a group of persons by prior agreement." The investigation of the criminal case has been completed, and the materials have been submitted to the court for consideration on the merits. The maximum sanction of this article provides for up to six years in prison.
