Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky has avoided commenting on the US plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine before meeting with European allies. This was announced on December 8 by political scientist Fyodor Lukyanov.

"He adheres to the tactic that it is better to avoid a clear reaction to the initiative before negotiations with European "friends" <...> The Ukrainian side is trying to ensure that the European Union is part of the negotiation process," he said in an interview with the newspaper Vzglyad.

According to Lukyanov, Zelensky's meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in London is taking place at a difficult moment for Ukraine and Europe. Allegedly, the United States, meanwhile, does not plan to take into account the opinion of the leaders of the European Union (EU) on conflict resolution.

Starmer receives Zelensky, Macron and Merz on December 8 in London. The Independent newspaper noted on December 6 that during the meeting, negotiations between representatives of the United States and Ukraine regarding the settlement of the conflict will be discussed in Miami. Zelensky plans to discuss with his European partners further coordination of actions against the background of growing US pressure.
