Since the beginning of 2025, the amount of penalties from motorists who were responsible for stopping tram traffic has exceeded 10 million rubles. The Metropolitan Department of Transport announced this on December 8 in its Telegram channel.

Lawyers of the Moscow Metro are collecting damages from the perpetrators of the tram stop. The average amount is 8 thousand rubles per 1 minute delay. This year, 100% of court decisions have been rendered in favor of the Moscow Metro.

The Department of Transport noted that trams are most often selected from the schedule if there is an accident on the tram tracks, the contact network is cut off due to the fault of third-party transport, a car is stuck on the tracks, and also when an incorrectly parked car stands in the "dimension" of the tram and prevents it from continuing its journey.

According to Maxim Liksutov, Moscow's Deputy Mayor for Transport, tram delays have decreased by 27% over the past year and by 54% over the past three years. According to him, this is facilitated by the separation of roads from highways and increased discipline among motorists.

Earlier, on October 30, it was reported that in Moscow, for the first time, the video analytics system of the Traffic Management Center (DPC) appeared at traffic lights, with its introduction trams began to pass intersections 20% faster.
