The Ministry of Industry and Trade will extend the experiment on labeling automotive components

The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed extending experiments on voluntary labeling of a number of product categories, including components of vehicles, internal combustion engine devices, and self-propelled vehicles. This was announced on December 8 by the press service of the Ministry.

The draft government decree provides for an extension until August 31, 2026, of the dates for conducting experiments on voluntary labeling of products, which, according to current regulations, end on February 28 of the same year.

In addition to components for cars and other vehicles, the list includes fiber-optic products, heating devices, cable and wire products, pyrotechnic products, fire extinguishing equipment, fire safety equipment, products for civil defense and protection from natural and man-made emergencies, and polymer pipe products.

The extension will allow industries to prepare for the seamless introduction of mandatory labeling, which is planned from September 1, 2026 (if the government of the Russian Federation makes an appropriate decision), the Ministry of Industry and Trade noted.

Earlier, on November 7, it was reported that the government of the Russian Federation expanded the list of goods in an experiment on labeling auto parts in the state system "Honest Sign". Manufacturers, importers, and sellers of spark plugs for buses, wheels, and rims, as well as brake pads and discs, will be able to participate in the experiment. Prior to this, the marking applied to oil filters, spark plugs, windshields and other windows.
