Microsoft has registered the Excel trademark in Russia

On December 8, the American Microsoft Corporation registered the Excel trademark with Rospatent. The rights to the brand will be assigned to the company until October 2035. The relevant information follows from the data of the Rusprofile counterparty verification service.

Microsoft releases a program for working with tables under the trademark. The brand applies to two classes of MCTs: 09 — computer software; 42 — computer software as a service (SaaS).

Microsoft left Russia in 2022. The Russian legal entity Microsoft LLC has been in the process of bankruptcy since 2025. By the end of 2024, the organization's revenue amounted to 162 million rubles, net profit — 174 million rubles. Since 2021, the company's revenue has fallen 43 times, from 6.9 billion rubles to 162 million rubles.
