Plushenko intends to break off cooperation with figure skater Kostyleva

Figure skater Evgeny Plushenko does not intend to continue working as a coach with junior Elena Kostyleva. This was reported on December 8 by RIA Novosti, citing a source.

According to him, the priority of Plushenko's team now is to prepare and hold a show in Minsk, in which Kostyleva will take part. However, after the event, the parties, on the initiative of Plushenko, do not plan to continue cooperation in the "coach–student" format.

"The reason is the behavior of the athlete's mother," the source said.

It is noted that the possibility of subsequent agreements cannot be completely ruled out: after the show in Minsk, the positions of the parties may change.

On June 15, the Angela Plushenko Academy demanded that figure skater Arina Parsegova return the funds in the amount of 1.9 million rubles that were spent on her training, justifying this by not fulfilling the terms of the contract on the part of the athlete.

Parsegova's mother noted that for the first year and a half she paid for her own tuition at Plushenko's Angels, and later the athlete had sponsors. According to the co-owner of the academy, Yana Rudkovskaya, the entire training period was funded by the institution, and the money was initially tried to be returned in a pre-trial manner. At the same time, the skater's mother described a different payment scheme. According to her, her daughter was fighting off sponsorship money.

On September 2, the Nikulinsky Court of Moscow satisfied the academy's claims against Parsegova. The court decided to recover 1.8 million 195 rubles and a fine of 100,000 rubles from the athlete's family.

Later, on September 5, the coaching staff of Eteri Tutberidze announced plans to organize a paid outdoor training session, part of the proceeds of which will be used to pay the fine of the Parsegova family in front of the academy. Tutberidze's students will take part in the training, including figure skaters Sofia Akatieva and Adelia Petrosyan, figure skater Andrei Mozalev and the athletic pair Alexandra Boikova and Dmitry Kozlovsky.
