The court of St. Petersburg fined businessman Kunis in the case of financing FBK

Grigory Kunis, entrepreneur, co-founder and manager of iGooods food delivery service, was fined 350 thousand rubles for financing the Anti-Corruption Fund (FBK) (recognized as an extremist and terrorist organization, a foreign agent and banned in the Russian Federation). This decision was made on December 8 by the Petrogradsky District Court of St. Petersburg.

It is noted that Kunis was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 282.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Financing an extremist organization").

"The court imposed a fine of 500,000 rubles. Taking into account the period of detention, the court commuted the fine to 350 thousand rubles," the Telegram channel of the united press service of the city courts said.

The defendant admitted his guilt and completely repented. During the interrogation, he explained that since 2013 he had been interested in the extremist organization from a journalistic point of view. He watched the videos of the participants, but he did not personally know anyone, nor did he participate in the work of the organization and did not share their political views.

"From August 2021 to February 2022, the person involved, realizing that FBK had already been liquidated in connection with extremist activities, made seven monthly online transfers to this organization for 500 rubles (a total of 3.5 thousand rubles)," the press service said.

In St. Petersburg, Kunis is also known as the ex-publisher of the newspaper Moy Raion (from 2003 to 2014). For a while, he coordinated the Immortal Regiment movement in the city.
