A new customs control system was introduced in Transbaikalia
In the Trans-Baikal Territory, a new system for customs control has started operating at the Zabaikalsk checkpoint. It is currently running in test mode.
As explained by ChitaMedia news agency with reference to the Far Eastern Customs Administration, since December 3, a new system for monitoring and informing drivers about the time of border crossing has been introduced at the checkpoint. The system was developed by specialists from the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and Rosgranstroy. The goal is to make border crossing more comfortable and traffic at customs control more orderly.
First, the driver receives a ticket at a special terminal in the customs clearance hall. To do this, he must indicate the number of the car and the type of cargo being transported. Then the queue number and the time of the call to the document submission window are displayed on the information boards. The interface is available not only in Russian, but also in English and Chinese.
Earlier it was reported that in late October and early November, the import of passenger cars from China through automobile and sea checkpoints in the Far East increased sharply. According to the Federal Customs Service on its website, Ussuri customs officers issued 4,477 passenger cars from November 1 to November 12, which is 3.5 times more than in the same period last year and 25% more than in the whole of November last year. Also, since the beginning of the month, 1007 trucks have arrived in Russia through automobile checkpoints in Primorsky Krai, which delivered 5,528 vehicles. This is almost four times more than at the same time a year earlier.
