A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The southern group of troops liberated the village of Chervonoye in the DPR. As a result of the actions of Russian military personnel, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost over 145 militants, three armored combat vehicles, 12 pickup trucks, two artillery pieces, an electronic warfare station, five ammunition depots and materiel.

In addition, units of the Dnepr group of forces liberated the village of Novodanilovka, Zaporizhia region, and units of the Zapad group of forces improved their position along the front line and continued to eliminate the Armed Forces of Ukraine formations surrounded on the left bank of the Oskol River.

"In the village of Dimitrov in the Donetsk People's Republic, the assault detachments of the 51st army continued to destroy the encircled enemy in the residential districts of Vostochny and Zapadny. The manpower and equipment of three mechanized, jaeger, amphibious assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two National Guard brigades and a defense brigade were defeated in areas of settlements <...> of the Donetsk People's Republic and <...> of the Dnipropetrovsk region," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, attack drones, missiles and artillery, defeated energy and transport infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, pre-flight training and launch sites for long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 142 areas. In turn, air defense systems shot down 171 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 668 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 101,131 UAVs, 639 anti-aircraft missile systems, 26,445 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,627 multiple rocket launchers, 31,788 field artillery and mortars, 48,590 pieces of special vehicles.
