- A policeman in Moscow jumped into a truck on the move and prevented an accident: what is known
A traffic police inspector in Moscow prevented a massive accident by stopping a truck driven by an unconscious driver. The incident occurred on Akademika Scriabina Street in Moscow. Despite the efforts of the doctors, the man could not be saved. About what to do if you feel unwell while driving, see the Izvestia article.
In Moscow, a traffic police inspector stopped a truck with an unconscious driver
Senior police Lieutenant Pavel Smetanin noticed a heavy truck moving in the oncoming lane. In order to stop the car, the traffic police inspector blocked the way with a company car, but the truck did not stop.
— Having quickly assessed the situation, Pavel Smetanin stopped the patrol car, opened the door of the moving tractor and found that the driver was unconscious. A policeman climbed into the cab and stopped the truck," Irina Volk, an official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry, said on the Telegram channel on December 7.
An ambulance arrived at the scene, but it was not possible to save the man — he died due to a sharp deterioration in his health. The incident occurred on Akademika Scriabina Street in Moscow.
According to Irina Volk, the employee's determination made it possible to avoid an accident with "unpredictable consequences."
What to do if you feel bad driving
If you feel unwell during the trip, turn on the alarm, slow down and stop at the curb or in the recreation area. Then you should call an ambulance or take medicine and wait for the drugs to act. These recommendations were shared by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Moscow region.
You should inform your family about the incident and ask for help from others. You can also dial 112. Even if you feel better, it's better not to get behind the wheel, but to use a tow truck or the help of other drivers.
Sudden discomfort at the wheel can lead to a serious accident, for which the driver will be responsible. Motorists are also advised to have water with them, periodically ventilate the interior, take breaks on the way and monitor their meals.
Always on guard: Russian police officers save lives on the road
Earlier on August 2, it became known about a situation when police officers helped a driver who suddenly became ill. The man managed to stop the car, and traffic police inspectors called an ambulance and monitored the citizen's condition.
"Before the doctors arrived, the police officers supported the man, preventing him from falling, and monitored his condition," Irina Volk said.
And when the medics arrived, inspectors from the Buguruslansky State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Orenburg region helped to transfer the driver to a stretcher. He was promptly taken to the hospital, where he received the necessary help — now the man's life is not in danger.
Also on May 4, police captain Shamil Khanmagomedov, a traffic police officer in the Samara region, rescued a man who had lost consciousness in a car. During the evening service, the inspector was approached by the driver, who asked for help to take his friend, the passenger, to the hospital, who became ill. The policeman started escorting the car, but the passenger lost consciousness on the way. Khanmagomedov provided him with first aid, restoring his pulse, after which, together with the driver, he promptly took the victim to a medical facility in his patrol car.
Later, the brother of the rescued man sent an official letter of thanks to the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This was reported by Irina Volk.
