The Russian manufacturer will supply 1.5 thousand base stations to Megafon

Megafon will receive 1.5 thousand base stations from the Russian manufacturer Yadro (part of X Holding). This was reported by the press service of the operator.

The supply of telecom equipment will take place under the contract in two stages. As part of each of them, Megafon will receive 750 BTS8100 base stations, as well as a Yadro NMS network management system, controllers and other components.

The base stations support GSM (2G) and LTE (4G) standards. The hardware architecture is ready to deploy a 5G network in the future.

The devices have been certified and included in the register of Russian industrial products of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. "The telecom equipment meets regulatory requirements and supports flexible adaptation to various operating scenarios, from large urban agglomerations to remote areas," the press service noted.

In case of successful field testing, the base stations will be put into operation on the operator's network. "We plan to conduct a comprehensive inspection of base stations in various scenarios to ensure their adaptability to real—world operating conditions and scalability for our tasks," said Andrey Konstantinov, Director of Strategic Infrastructure Planning at Megafon.

According to him, "Yadro's equipment is approaching the quality required for carrier-class networks." "The ability to interact directly with the developer, the availability of a production base and an engineering center in Russia allow you to flexibly configure the product configuration for the network architecture," said Konstantinov.
