Colonel Vasily Dygai, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War of the Guard, died at the age of 106. This was announced on December 8 by the Governor of the Irkutsk region Igor Kobzev.

"Yesterday, Colonel Vasily Filippovich Dygai, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, died. It was an honor to meet this man. Vasily Filippovich went through the whole war," the head of the region wrote on his Telegram channel.
