The survey revealed Russians' fear of career growth
Russians do not agree to a promotion if it means giving up benefits, corporate programs, and a social package: 48% of employees choose financial stability in their old position. This follows from a survey conducted by HR Lab. — The HR Innovation Laboratory and the Academy of Health platform for the AlfaStrakhovanie analytical center, which I reviewed the results of "Газета.Ru ".
"Today, financial sustainability is becoming a priority not only for experienced employees, but also for those who are just starting their career path. Even the youngest professionals carefully evaluate the guarantees provided by an employer: income predictability, employment conditions, and the quality of social programs. The growing interest in stability among new employees suggests that the approach to choosing a job is changing. People are increasingly looking not for quick career moves, but for clear and reliable foundations for long—term professional development," commented Alice Bezlyudova, Director of the Marketing Department of Medicine AlfaStrakhovanie.
The study showed that for 67% of the surveyed employees, the most important thing was a regular and predictable salary, and by financial peace of mind they mean the guarantees provided by their employer. Among the respondents, 43% consider it important to have corporate benefits, payments, and voluntary health insurance (VMI). This reduces the possibility of unexpected expenses. Another 34% of respondents noted the company's stability in the market and predictability in strategic decisions.
According to the survey, almost half of Russians will not consider a promotion if their social package deteriorates, so the career ambitions of the respondents are quite restrained. If an increased workload and a more complex schedule are expected at a new job, 33% will also refuse, and only 19% of respondents are attracted to career growth, regardless of conditions.
The most cautious group of respondents were mid-level employees: 58% of specialists and managers put stability above career growth. At the same time, employees over the age of 45 have the maximum request for financial stability, as 63% of people in this group gave the appropriate response.
The following trend can be traced in business activity: 57% of respondents do not consider such a type of activity in the coming years. Another 29% allow this option, but only if they have a significant financial cushion or family support. Only 5% of the participants are ready to start their own business with clear guarantees of start-up capital, investments or the opportunity to retain some of the corporate benefits for the transition period.
Anastasia Alekseeva, HR director of the DIDENOK TEAM communications agency, told Izvestia on November 7 that in many teams there is a person who works carelessly - he is irresponsible about fulfilling his tasks, disrupts deadlines, pulls the team down, but is not ready to quit. In this case, the specialist noted, it is worthwhile to define clear boundaries and discuss them with a colleague. This dialogue should be sufficiently specific and respectful, explaining the cause-and-effect relationships. It is important to describe the effect of his work without getting personal or insulting the employee himself.
