Medvedev predicted the "funeral" of the EU economy due to its militarization
If European countries begin to build up their military forces, it will lead to the destruction of their economies and the establishment of dictatorial regimes. This opinion was expressed on December 7 by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council.
"There is a risk that the Europeans will increase their military capabilities with might and main. This will completely bury their economies and require the establishment of regimes close to dictatorial ones," Medvedev wrote on his Max messenger channel.
He also noted that there had already been a similar experience in the history of Europe, when Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany with aggressive and militaristic slogans.
Earlier, on November 27, Russian Ambassador to Belgium Denis Gonchar said that the North Atlantic Alliance was actively preparing the population of its countries for a possible large-scale clash with Russia, although there were no real threats from Moscow. According to the diplomat, the NATO leadership consciously supports the idea of imaginary "Russian aggression", using it as an excuse to increase military activity near the Russian borders.
Prior to that, on November 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced during a press conference following a state visit to Kyrgyzstan that Russia was ready to record the absence of state intentions to attack Europe. He clarified that the European representatives promoting such speculations are "crooks" or "a little crazy."
