British photographer Martin Parr has died at the age of 73.
British photographer and photojournalist Martin Parr has died at the age of 74. This was announced on December 7 on the photographer's official website.
The family's statement notes that Parr passed away on December 6 at his home in Bristol. It also clarifies that his relatives were with him.
"It is with deep sorrow that we inform you that Martin Parr (1952-2025) passed away yesterday at his home in Bristol. He is survived by his wife Susie, daughter Ellen, sister Vivienne, and grandson George.
The website also states that his legacy will be jointly preserved and presented by the Martin Parr Foundation and the Magnum Photos agency. Parr became one of the key representatives of modern documentary photography. Among his famous works is a series of shots from the opening of the first McDonald's in the USSR.
