Moscow and Washington are working to agree on key provisions that will determine the form and fate of the future document on Ukraine. This was announced on December 7 by Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin, published on the VGTRK Telegram channel.

"There is a convergence of those difficult provisions that should determine the form and fate of the future document," he said.

According to Ushakov, it is impossible to achieve a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine without the participation of experts, including representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the US State Department.

On December 6, the US State Department reported that the United States had agreed with the Ukrainian delegation on the framework of security measures. It was noted that the Americans and Ukrainians also discussed the necessary means of deterrence to maintain lasting peace.

US President Donald Trump's special Envoy Steven Witkoff met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 3. The negotiations lasted about five hours.
