The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has supported the proposal of deputies of the State Duma (State Duma) to put information on the annual number of deaths, dismissals or illnesses due to alcohol consumption on bottles of alcoholic beverages. This was announced on December 7 by Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Evgenia Kotova.

On November 11, deputies sent a corresponding appeal to the head of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko with the above measures.

"The Russian Ministry of Health conceptually supports measures aimed at strengthening public health and reducing alcohol consumption, including informing the public about the risks associated with it," RIA Novosti quoted Kotova as saying.

The Ministry also drew attention to the fact that the introduction of a number of labeling elements can be carried out if the reliability, completeness and comparability of statistical data are ensured. Otherwise, all this will not reflect the reality of the alcohol consumption situation and may mislead about the scale of the problem.

On November 15, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin announced the discussion of the State Duma on the possible introduction of restrictions on the sale of alcohol-free products imitating alcohol to minors. It was noted that the use of such products by children can lead to the formation of addiction to alcoholic beverages, ritual imitation of adult behavior, unhealthy interest in alcohol.
