Abnormally warm weather is forecast in Moscow from December 11 to the end of next week: the air temperature will be 4-6 degrees above normal, reaching from +5 to +7 degrees. This was announced on December 7 by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand.
"Temperatures are forecast to rise in Moscow on December 11, with night temperatures ranging from 0 to +2 degrees, and daytime temperatures ranging from +2 to +7 [degrees]. The south-westerly wind will significantly increase the temperature. On Friday, both during the day and at night, it is expected from 0 to +5 degrees. Light precipitation is possible in some places, but snow will not fall. And next weekend, there will again be a slight drop in temperature at night to -4 degrees, during the day it will be from -3 to +2 degrees," he said in an interview with TASS.
According to Vilfand, heavy precipitation capable of creating a stable snow cover is not expected.
Wilfand reported on December 5 that temperatures in Siberia could drop to -40 degrees by the end of the week due to air masses from the Arctic Ocean. It was clarified that at the moment the temperature in Siberia exceeds the norm by 8-9 degrees, but next week it may drop significantly.
