The head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, in an attempt to smooth out the provisions of the new US National Security Strategy criticizing the EU, said that the United States remains Europe's main allies. She made the corresponding statement on December 6.

"Of course, there's a lot of criticism, but I think it's fair in some ways. The United States remains our largest ally. I think we haven't always agreed on different issues, but I think the general principle remains the same. We are the biggest allies, and we must stick together," Euractiv quotes Kallas as saying.

According to her, "Europe underestimates its own power" and must stick together.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the new US National Security Strategy does not include criticism of Russia. The article notes that the priorities in the strategy are the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict and the restoration of the "greatness of Europe."

On December 4, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto drew attention to the fact that the EU, through its policy, isolated itself on the world stage and ceased to be its leading player. According to the diplomat, the EU is not sitting at the negotiating tables where the most important conflicts in Europe are being discussed.
