A car drove into a crowd at the Christmas market in Saint Anne
A car with an intoxicated driver in the French city of Saint-Anne drove into a food truck and hit a crowd of people who were nearby at a Christmas market. This was announced on December 6 by the Franceinfo media company.
"Shortly after 19:30 local time (02:30 Moscow time), the car veered off the trajectory and collided with a group of people gathered near a van in the city of Saint-Anne. The accident occurred on Schelcher Square, next to the town hall and the church," the publication says.
It is noted that 27 people, including seven children, were injured in the incident. The 45-year-old driver of the car was soon arrested. Narcotic substances and alcohol were found in his samples.
Earlier, on October 5, a sports car at a rally competition near the city of Varna in Bulgaria drove into a group of spectators, killing one person and injuring eight others. It was noted that a 60-year-old fan was killed due to a vehicle collision, and at least eight more people were injured. The hit-and-run occurred at a T-shaped intersection.
