Cooperation between Russia and Saudi Arabia in such areas as economics, innovation and digital technologies was discussed in Moscow this week. As part of the unique Russia Bridge Program project, businessmen and government officials from the two countries met at the site. The main objective of the event was to establish close cooperation.

"We see prospects for cooperation not so much in mutual exports as in modern projects that can compete well on global markets by combining the competencies of the two countries," said Lyudmila Stepanova, Director of International Projects at the Center for the Development of the Creative Economy at the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.

This program is a unique opportunity for Russian businesses to enter the Saudi Arabian market. Thus, 10 Russian projects were selected to launch the program, each of which will receive support from investors in the kingdom. This will become the basis for closer cooperation between the countries.

On December 1, Russia and Saudi Arabia signed an intergovernmental agreement on the mutual abolition of visa requirements for holders of all types of passports. In addition, the parties signed an agreement on cooperation on climate change and low-carbon development.

On November 27, the Russian government approved a draft agreement with Saudi Arabia on the mutual abolition of visa requirements for citizens of both countries, which will allow citizens of one country to continuously stay in the territory of another state without a visa for 90 days. It will also be possible to divide this period into several periods, but the total duration during one calendar year should not exceed the established period.
