The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on the registration of CTP by fraudsters after an accident to receive payments

Forgery of the date in the CTP policy is one of the most common fraudulent schemes in Russia. This was announced on December 6 by the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry.

The agency recalled that the availability of a CTP policy is mandatory for drivers. However, there are often cases when drivers, in an effort to save money, try to pay a fine, believing that it is cheaper than paying for insurance. However, no one is immune from an accident.

"If the culprit of the accident turned out to be without insurance, the victim will have to pay for repairs in full from his personal funds. In this case, those who wanted to save money are looking for any opportunity to get a CTP policy," the press service quoted TASS as saying.

The Interior Ministry stressed that with the development of digital technologies, it has become more difficult to carry out such fraudulent schemes. Currently, it is impossible to apply for a policy retroactively, since insurers are required to register documents in the database of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers. This can only be done at the time of the request, the agency noted.
