The delegations of the United States and Ukraine held talks on moving towards peace
The U.S. and Ukrainian delegations completed "constructive" talks in Miami and agreed with the Ukrainian delegation on the framework of security measures. This was reported on December 5 on the website of the State Department.
Special Envoy Steven Witkoff and US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner took part in the meeting from Washington. Kiev was represented by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov and Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Andrey Gnatov.
"The participants discussed the results of the recent meeting between the American and Russian sides and the steps that could lead to an end to this conflict. The Americans and Ukrainians also agreed on a framework for security measures and discussed the necessary means of deterrence to maintain lasting peace," the press release said.
According to the press release, the parties discussed the possibilities of restoring Ukraine after the end of the conflict, including joint economic projects between Washington and Kiev, as well as long-term development initiatives. The delegations will have to meet on December 6 to continue discussions.
