The U.S. State Department has approved the sale of more than 200 air-to-air missiles and related equipment to Denmark for $730 million. This was announced on December 5 by the Agency for Security Cooperation (DSCA) of the US Department of Defense.
"This proposed sale will support the foreign policy objectives and national security of the United States by enhancing the security of a NATO ally that is a force for political stability and economic progress in Europe," the publication says.
According to the report, the Danish government has requested the purchase of 200 AIM-120D-3 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) and three guidance sections for them. The delivery will also include spare parts, accessories and software. The supplier undertakes warranty obligations and equipment repairs, as well as logistical support.
On December 4, the Agency for Defense Security Cooperation reported that the US State Department had decided to approve the possible sale of aviation weapons and equipment to Canada in the amount of $2.68 million. It is specified that the supplies will include up to 750 GBU-39 training bombs, up to 100 GBU-39 guided test vehicles (GTV) and no more than 220 BLU-11 general purpose bombs.
