The United States agreed with the Ukrainian delegation on the "framework" of security measures. The State Department announced this on December 5.

They confirmed two-day meetings between US Special Envoy Steven Witkoff and US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner with Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov and Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrei Gnatov.
