Moskvich automobile plant explained the appearance of Moskvich 5 at dealers

Moskvich 5 cars, which did not go on official sale, appeared at a dealership in Nizhny Novgorod. As explained at the Moskvich automobile plant, these crossovers were purchased as used cars, there is no decision to launch the model into mass production. This was reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta on December 5.

The fact that 70 Moskvich 5 cars were available at the Nizhny Novgorod dealer was reported earlier that day by the Avtotok Telegram channel. According to him, in the Standard configuration, the price of such a crossover is 2.05 million rubles for cash and 1.95 million rubles with a loan and a trade-in. The Comfort package will cost 2.12 million or 1.99 million rubles, respectively.

Back in April of this year, Moskvich announced that it had produced several hundred Moskvich 5 crossovers, and in the future the model may go into mass production, but its launch will be accepted based on the results of tests.

The Moskvich 5 is based on the Chinese JAC Sehol X6 crossover with a length of 4505 mm and a wheelbase of 2660 mm. For comparison, the Moskvich 3 has a length of 4410 mm and a wheelbase of 2620 mm. The Moskvichi 5 produced in the capital is equipped with 1.5 turbo engines (136 or 174 hp) and a CVT and has front-wheel drive.
