The Zaporizhia Regional Court sentenced a 61-year-old resident of the city of Primorsk, Zaporizhia region, to 12 years and 6 months in prison for high treason. This was announced on December 5 by the court's press service.

"The Zaporizhia Regional Court sentenced citizen B. to imprisonment for 12 years and 6 months in a general regime penal colony and with restriction of liberty for one year," the court wrote on its Telegram channel.

The woman was found guilty of violating Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason"). According to the investigation, in June 2023, the woman decided to provide financial assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

It is noted that in January 2024, a resident of Primorsk transferred funds to the militants of the reconnaissance battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the mobile application of a Ukrainian bank.

In the Krasnodar Territory, in early December, a criminal case was opened on high treason against a resident of the region who transferred funds for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen in relation to the detainee.
