"India adheres to a fairly balanced approach [on Ukraine] and stands for peace. We also stand for peace, and we really want peace," Peskov said in a commentary to the TV channel.

He noted that Russia has the opportunity to directly discuss all points of Moscow's position, as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi maintain a dialogue.

"This is the best way to explain your position to your friends," the Russian leader's spokesman added.
