Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should have independently requested the possibility of official talks with Polish President Karol Nawrocki. This was announced on December 5 by the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radoslaw Sikorski.

"Zelensky's crown would not have fallen off his head if he had requested a visit to the presidential palace while passing through Poland," the diplomat said on RMF24 radio.

At the same time, the head of the department criticized the Polish leader himself because of his insistence on the Ukrainian authorities to show gratitude for the assistance already provided.

Navrotsky said yesterday that Zelensky should show gratitude to the Poles for helping Ukraine. He added that he consistently "seeks symmetry" in relations between Poland and Ukraine. In addition, he expressed hope for Zelensky's visit to Warsaw, during which they will discuss the issue of mutual relations between the countries.

Prior to that, on November 14, Navrotsky announced that Poland had extended the program of support for Ukrainian refugees for only one year. According to the president, he signed the law on assistance to Ukrainians "for the last time."
