In the Kirov region, on the Vyatka highway in the Yuryansky district, a truck crashed into a bus carrying hockey players. This was announced on December 5 by Dmitry Kurdyumov, First Deputy Chairman of the regional government.

"This morning, a truck crashed into a bus carrying athletes of the Rodina-2 team to the competition," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

According to Kurdyumov, the preliminary cause of the accident was that the truck driver fell asleep at the wheel. It is noted that four athletes born in 2007-2008 were injured in the incident. At the same time, hockey players with moderate injuries were taken to the Center for Traumatology, Orthopedics and Neurosurgery.

Kurdyumov clarified that there is currently no threat to the life and health of athletes. Irina Volk, the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry, also noted that an investigation was underway into the incident.

On November 3, it was reported that an accident involving a minibus of a children's hockey team and two passenger cars occurred near Volgodonsk in the Rostov region. As a result of the incident, two people died. Then it was noted that the children were not injured.
