Russia and India have begun discussing the joint production of SJ-100 and IL-114 aircraft. This was announced on December 5 by the head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, answering a question from Izvestia correspondent Nikolai Ivanov.
"Rostec is participating in negotiations in the civil sphere for the first time. We have already started discussing the topic of joint production of the IL-114 superjet," he said.
Chemezov also stressed that a memorandum between the Russian United Aviation Corporation (UAC) and the Indian Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has already been signed.
On October 28, UAC and HAL signed a memorandum of understanding on the production of SJ-100 aircraft. However, the details of the agreement were not disclosed.
