Summary of the special operation in Ukraine for the week

A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. In response to Kiev's terrorist attacks on civilian targets on the territory of the Russian Federation, the Russian Armed Forces carried out massive and four group strikes, which affected enterprises of the military industry of Ukraine, facilities of the fuel and energy complex that provided their work, transport and airfield infrastructure used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, production workshops, storage facilities, and pre-flight training and the launch of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), ammunition depots, rocket fuel, fuel, as well as temporary deployment sites for Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries.

In addition, during the week, the Russian army decisively liberated the city of Volchansk in the Kharkiv region, the settlements of Bezymyannoe and Klinove, and the city of Krasnoarmeysk in the DPR.

"The units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses. The settlements of Zelyony Guy, Dobropole and Chervonoye in the Zaporizhia region have been liberated. Formations of three mechanized, two assault brigades, three assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and two air defense brigades were defeated. During the week, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 1,515 servicemen in the Vostok group of forces' area of responsibility," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, attack drones, missiles and artillery, destroyed five multiple rocket launchers, four of them Western-made.

In turn, air defense systems shot down five Neptune long-range guided missiles, a HIMARS multiple launch rocket system manufactured in the United States, and 1,100 aircraft-type drones. The forces of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed seven unmanned boats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost 668 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 100,422 UAVs, 638 anti-aircraft missile systems, 26,387 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,626 multiple rocket launchers, 31,723 field artillery guns and mortars, 48,391 special vehicles.
