Three new Volga models began to be certified in Russia
The certification process for three new models of the revived domestic Volga brand has begun in Russia. The cars were based on cars from the Chinese company Geely, the Chinese Cars portal reported on December 5.
According to his source, Nizhny Novgorod Passenger Cars has received declarations of conformity for three Volga trucks, these documents are used in the process of obtaining Vehicle Type Approval (OTT), necessary for the official launch of car sales in the Russian Federation, followed by the issuance of vehicle passports.
We are talking about the Volga K40 and K50 crossovers, as well as the Volga C50 sedan. It is assumed that these models are based on Geely cars already known in the Russian Federation — Atlas, Monjaro and Preface, respectively.
It is noted that Changan was supposed to become a partner of the Volga brand last year, and ready-made models were demonstrated to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in May 2024. However, the cooperation of the companies has not been developed.
The day before, it was reported that sales of the Geely Monjaro crossover in the new Flagship SE (Special Edition) will soon begin in Russia. The model differs in interior design and technological equipment.
