BAIC has promised to keep the X55 and X75 crossovers in Russia.
BAIC, which has decided to focus on SUVs in Russia, has no plans to abandon the X55 and X75 front-wheel drive crossovers. This was reported in the press service of the brand, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports on December 5.
Representatives of BAIC said that the company plans to place an order for front-wheel drive versions of this series of cars, and in 2027 it plans to launch all-wheel drive versions of these crossovers on the market.
In addition, the U5 Plus sedan should remain on the assembly line of Kaliningrad Avtotor. By the middle of 2026, it is planned to localize and produce it with welding and painting in order to fit into the new requirements for admission to use in taxis.
In November, BAIC announced that it would expand the off-road vehicle range in Russia, with two new models joining the already available BJ40 and BJ60 frames in 2026: the BJ30 and BJ41. In 2027, hybrid BJ41 SUVs with BJ60 and mid-size X55 and X75 crossovers with REHEV installation are planned to enter the Russian market.
In Russia, in 2026, the Avtotor plant in the Kaliningrad region is going to launch full-cycle production of BAIC machines with welding and body painting. In a message from the brand's representatives, which was received by Izvestia on October 15, it was clarified that this would allow reaching the necessary level for participation in federal programs.
