The FSB detained eight members of a terrorist organization in Bashkiria.

In Bashkiria, eight members of an organization recognized as a terrorist in the Russian Federation, who preached the idea of creating a worldwide caliphate, and also recruited supporters into their ranks, were detained. This was announced on December 5 by the FSB's Public Relations Center.

"In the Republic of Bashkortostan, the activities of a clandestine cell of the international terrorist organization (ITO) banned in Russia, consisting of eight citizens of the Russian Federation, have been suppressed," the message says.

A large number of terrorist propaganda materials, communications equipment and electronic media were found and seized at the places of residence of the detainees. A criminal case has been opened under Parts 1, 2 of Articles 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in the activities of such an organization").
