The European Union's (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kallas, is seeking to distance herself from the corruption scandal involving her predecessor, Federica Mogherini. This was reported on December 4 by the Berliner Zeitung (BZ) newspaper.

It is clarified that Callas sent a letter to her subordinates, in which she expressed extreme surprise and shock at the allegations of corruption and abuse made against Mogherini, who previously held her position, but some employees reacted critically to the letter.
