The US State Department has decided to approve the possible sale of aviation weapons and equipment to Canada in the amount of $2.68 million. This was announced on December 4 by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) of the US Department of War.
"The State Department has decided to approve a possible foreign military sale to the Government of Canada of aviation weapons and related equipment for an estimated value of $2.68 million," the publication says.
It is specified that the supplies will include up to 750 GBU-39 training bombs, up to 100 GBU-39 guided test vehicles (GTV) and no more than 220 BLU-11 general purpose bombs. In addition, the contract will include various guidance kits, explosive systems, ammunition, tools and repair equipment.
According to the agency, this sale will enhance Canada's defensive capabilities and will not change the basic military balance in the region.
