- The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation at the United Nations said that EU sanctions had caused damage to the economy of € 1.6 trillion
Russia condemns unilateral sanctions as a tool for managing the global economy, calling them a relic of colonial thinking and pointing out their negative impact even on those who impose them. This was announced on December 4 by Dmitry Chumakov, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, at a meeting of the UN General Assembly in honor of the International Day against Unilateral Coercive Measures.
"Attempts to 'manage' the global economy through unilateral coercive measures are a vestige of colonial thinking that does not work in a global market and the formation of a multipolar world order," he said.
