Actions with frozen Russian assets must comply with the norms of international law. This was announced on December 4 by Julie Kozak, Director of Communications at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

"The staff and management of the IMF have consistently advised that any actions related to the use of Russia's frozen assets must comply with international and national law and not undermine the functioning of the international monetary system," she said during a briefing.

She also expressed hope that European politicians appreciate these warnings from the IMF.
