- The Federal Tax Service told about the changes in the taxation of real estate of Russians
The Federal Tax Service (FTS) told about the changes in the taxation of real estate of Russians. This was reported on December 4 on the agency's website.
"Since 2026, amendments have been made to the Tax Code (Tax Code. — Ed.) of the Russian Federation on taxation of various types of property," the message says.
According to the Federal Tax Service, starting from January 1, 2026, real estate tax deductions will be extended to families with three children until the eldest child reaches adulthood. In addition, if an individual owns a real estate object, the construction of which has not been completed, and the cost exceeds 300 million rubles, then they will be subject to a reduced rate in accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 406 of the Tax Code.
The ministry added that starting from August 1 next year, the regime for receiving tax notifications will be simplified for Russians. It is specified that they will be displayed in the personal account on the Gosuslugi portal. There is no need to notify the tax service about the desire to receive documents through Gosuslugi, this will happen automatically.
According to the Federal Tax Service, owners of real estate located in areas where an emergency or counter-terrorism operation regime has been introduced will also be exempt from taxes.
On November 24, the head of the Federal Tax Service, Daniil Egorov, proposed using data from digital platforms and tax deductions for tenants as measures to legalize the rental housing market. He also proposed introducing tax deductions for tenants, which would create an incentive for legal transactions. According to him, in this case, a conflict between the seller and the buyer is created: if the seller does not want legal documents, the buyer cannot claim deductions.
