NMG and TV9 Network announce start of Russian-Indian media cooperation
The National Media Group (NMG) and the Indian media group TV9 Network (Associated Broadcasting Company Private Limited) have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening the Russian-Indian partnership in the media sector. The document was signed during the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India and the Russian-Indian Forum taking place in New Delhi these days.
The parties agreed to develop cooperation through the exchange of media content, joint production of materials, training and internships for employees, expanding the distribution of media products, as well as using the potential of correspondent networks. It is noted that the interaction is based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and respect for intellectual property rights.
"The potential for cooperation between Russian and Indian media holdings is huge: This is not only a combination of cutting-edge technologies and creative solutions, but also a deep cultural interaction that creates unique opportunities for global reach and joint growth in the international media arena. Today, Indian content on NMG channels is leading in the top 10 content from the BRICS countries. I am confident that cooperation with TV9 Network will provide even more opportunities for new joint content perspectives, innovations and other media projects, accelerating the exchange of experience and strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and India in the modern media market," said Svetlana Balanova, CEO of NMG.
Hemant Sharma, Executive Director of TV9 Network, in turn, stressed that the agreement with NMG will facilitate the exchange of information content and news between the two countries. The national channel TV9 Bharatvarsh, which is the only global news channel broadcasting in Hindi, will help to convey to the audience Russia's point of view on world events, and India — to show Russian viewers the Indian assessment of the global news picture, he added.
On May 8, the National Media Group and the Media Corporation of China (China Media Group — CMG) signed a cooperation agreement. The document was signed during the visit of the Chinese delegation to Russia for the celebrations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, in the presence of President Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping. It was reported that the parties will also engage in joint production of content.
