More than 4.3 thousand winter recreation facilities are ready in the capital: ice rinks, ski trails, snow towns, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in the MAX messenger.

So, in December, ice rinks began operating at VDNKh, Gorky Park, Tsarskaya Embankment, Kolomenskoye Museum Reserve, Sokolniki Park and Vorobyovy Gory.

A new ice rink in Luzhniki Stadium will open soon. The multimedia skating rink with an area of 16.5 thousand square meters will become the largest such facility in Russia. Up to 3 thousand people will be able to stay at the rink at the same time. Heating and rental points, catering pavilions and children's areas will be open for visitors.

In addition, citizens are already expected at 11 year-round sports grounds located next to residential buildings, Sobyanin noted. "In winter they will work as skating rinks, and in summer as playgrounds for basketball, volleyball, badminton or football. All the necessary infrastructure has been equipped," the mayor said, adding that in the future it is planned to continue creating such spaces in different districts of the capital.

According to the mayor, the flagship ski trail will start operating in winter, which will connect the 850th Anniversary of Moscow Park in Maryina and the park on the embankment of the Moskva River in Kapotna. The route will be 13 km long.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
