The Vatican authorities did not allow women to become deacons of the Catholic Church, a special commission voted "against". This was reported by Reuters on December 4.

"A high-ranking commission of the Vatican voted against granting Catholic women the right to serve as deacons, thereby preserving the practice of the universal Church, according to which all clergy are men," the article says.

According to the agency, the commission stated by a majority vote that "historical research and theological research exclude the possibility of allowing women to serve as deacons at the present time," but recommended further study of this issue.

On November 26, Pope Leo XIV approved a new regulation of the Roman Curia, according to which Catholics are prohibited from entering into polygamous and polyamorous relationships. The document also notes that monogamy is not just the opposite of polygamy, it is much more, and its deepening allows us to imagine marriage in all its richness and fertility.
