In the Moscow region, a new measure of support for large families will begin to operate in 2026. From January 1, annual compensation of a portion of the tuition fees for students will be available if they are children from large families. This applies to families with four or more children.

According to the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya, with reference to the regional Ministry of Economic Development, we are talking about students of secondary vocational education institutions.

To receive a payment, you must have a contract for the provision of paid educational services, which is concluded with a state educational organization.

The professions and specialties for which compensation will be provided will be determined by the regional government. The family has the right to receive 50% of the actually paid tuition fee for each child who is studying full-time for the first time.

The regional budget has allocated 50 million rubles annually for these purposes.

Currently, almost 21,000 families with four or more children live in the Moscow region. 13,000 students from large families are enrolled in secondary vocational education programs. Of these, more than 3 thousand study on a paid basis.

Earlier, Sergey Kolunov, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services, said that large families in Russia are entitled to a discount of at least 30% on housing and communal services. Each region has its own discount rate, but the minimum amount is set by federal law and is 30%. Kolunov said that depending on the region, the discount may increase. For example, in the Moscow Region, benefits for large families reach 50%.
